Default HA! I knew devourers had a real life cousin. :P

I read an article in the BBC news today about a fossil of a scorpion 6ft long.

There was a sea-scorpion that grew up to 20ft long in the Devonian period... I think it was that period.

Go ahead. You can link to anything you like as long as the content of what you're linking to follows Guru rules. i.e, don't post links to advertisements or porn, but links to new websites, other forums, etc are fine.

If the scorpions were that big imagine how big the rodents were.

Yeah, there were some huge arthropods in the Carboniferous and Devonian.

Check out this giant millipede:

Just a replica, obviously

Or this Trilobite: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradoxides

That was way back when oxygen were at very high levels. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but a lot of the large bugs could have been found in the ocean, right?

Right now, the largest insect seems to be the Goliath Beetle at almost 4 inches. But the Japanese spider crab seems to be the largest bug at almost 2 feet for body length and 15 feet just for the legs!

I think I'm wrong, though. There are a LOT of bugs out there. Whew.

I don't think even Steve Irwin would have messed with a bigass scorpion like that.
